Hello and welcome to my blog documenting my progress from now to completing my senior Capstone at Bradley University.
I have been working with animating way before I started going to school at Bradley. So, I want this last piece at Bradley to get me a job. I'm 27 for God's sake.
I have 2 ideas that have stuck out to me that haven't been able to leave the chewed-up mound of gum I call a brain.
The First Idea is: Cheese Mongrels
Cheese Mongrels follows the story of a scrawny cheese delivery person from the 1700s who gets ambushed by a gang of rats. (probably regular rats, not sentient( but I'm not opposed to doing it that way)).
I came up with this idea thinking about how I could use my tech-animation skills to turn a cheese wheel into a wheel amid rat swarm-based combat.
Sounds funny.
By the end, I want to see the MC meet the king-o-da-rats. The main reason they were stealing the CHEDDA. King-o-da-rats could be like some pudgy time-traveling guy in a cave with a Cubs wife hugger with mustard stains on it or something. OR JUST A HUGE RAT. Could be fun
The second Idea is: Water Bear
Water Bear is a more graphic story in which humanity discovers the ability to live forever, but this effect doesn't go beyond humans. So as humans begin to overpopulate and generally destroy the planet they just continue existing. With a lack of food and water, they begin to look dreary and deflated. Very similar to redeads from Zelda.
They discovered immortality by tapping into the untapped power of the water bear. So every human on earth wears a mask resembling a Water Bear/Tartigrade.
While there is more substance to this universe I am struggling to think of a real story to tell. I have a glimpse of what I want the ending to be but I have no idea how to get there.
I'm leaning towards Cheese Mongrels due to its more simplistic story and it being able to be understood by an audience. Plus, there will be way more to animate. Water Bear will consist of a lot of high-quality renders with one final climactic scene.
